The next lunar eclipse will be on 14 March 2025.
It will be a spectacular total lunar eclipse where the Earth's umbra, the darkest part of its shadow, completely covers the Moon. Because a totally eclipsed Moon is usually colored red, total lunar eclipses are also called Blood Moons.
A lunar eclipse can be seen from all locations on the night side of Earth.
This eclipse will not be visible in Hong Kong, but you can follow it via our real-time animation or live stream.
